For those of you who have known me for a while, you will understand this post. This is sort of my TBT on Wednesday. Ten years ago today, I was broadsided by a drunk driver. Spending ten days in a drug induced coma, going through exploratory surgery, removal of a ruptured spleen, fixing my lacerated liver and stomach, not to mention two deflated lungs, then catching pneumonia during this coma. After waking up, I couldnt talk because of the tracheotomy. Needless to say, I was out of the classroom for several weeks. Didnt go back until Nov. 1 of that year (2004). I want to thank (again, multiple times) the great work of the nurses and physicians at Erlanger Hospital in the trauma unit and the Intermediate Care unit, and the very patient rehab workers at Health South. You all gave me back my life. Thanks be to God for not taking me and letting me stay here a while longer!!! #notfinishedyet
