For those that do not know, today is the Marine Corps 239th birthday and we Marines celebrate each year in various ways ... a formal Ball, wishing each other Happy Birthday, etc. So if you see a Marine, wish him or her a happy birthday and see them light up. For all you Marines out there, it continues to be a source of pride and honor that I served in our Corps alongside the most incredible people I will ever meet. To those that came before me, I never forgot the heritage you forged and I saw it as a sacred responsibility to live up to the legacy you entrusted to me. To those that are now serving, I still feel a swell of pride when I see what you are doing. It was never more true what Chesty said ... Old breed? New breed? There’s not a damn bit of difference so long as it’s the Marine breed! Semper Fi, my Brothers and Sisters, and happy 239th.
