Formal Programme The 135th College day of St Aloysius PU College Mangaluru, was held on 10 January 2015 at the College Pretorium celebrating womanhood with all its glory. Mr Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, was the Chief Guest of the programme. Rev Dr Stanislaus D’Souza , Provincial, Karnataka Jesuit Province was the President of the programme. Rev. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Rev. Fr Joseph D’Souza SJ, Finance Officer, Mrs Rekha Alva, Vice Principal, Mrs Claudette Fernandes, PTA Vice President and the members of the Students’ Council were present on the dais. The programme began with a ceremonial reception to the guests. It was followed by a heart stirring hymn and we thanked God for all his blessings through this academic year. An amazing welcome dance performed by the students was well appreciated and applauded by the audience. Students performed Lavni dance, which showcased the culture of Maharastra. It was followed by the presentation of the college day report. Rev. Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, the Principal of St Aloysius PU College presented the college report and an exquisite video presentation was shown to the audience. The committee of the presentation was well appreciated for their outstanding execution of the work. Mr Joseph Prem Saldhana , Convener of the college day welcomed the guest gathering. Mr Castelino, the Chief Guest of the programme, lauding the spirit of students, he said that an inquisitive mind is capable of scaling great heights. He motivated students and said that in the year 2020 India would be the youngest nation in the world and students always should give more importance to spiritual realm and their mother tongue. Rev Dr Stanislaus D’Souza SJ, president of the programme gave a call to the students to bring back the nostalgic memories of the academic year and applauded the achievements of the students. Later students were awarded for their achievements in academic and sports. Mr Nicky Pinto, the President of the Students’ Council delivered the Vote of thanks.
