Four pics from my shoot of Seattles awesome 6 June 2014 sunset. Ive accepted - reluctantly - the fact that the physics of photography and my minds eye of the moment cant always agree. That doesnt mean, however that I dont try to get as close as possible. In sunset photos like these, details my eyes remember can get lost in the light level appropriate to the overall image. In the rose blue, royal blue, and silver pics here I used two Picasa 3 post processing tools - HDR-ish and Orton to pop the details; and then counteract the HDR excess. You have to play with the levels of both ... but Ive been happy with the results. The royal blue photo also includes Echo, the new Jaume Plensa art installation at the waterfront. The right 3/4 of Echo had shrubbery between it and the camera. instead of erasing the shrubbery and creating a view that doesnt exist in reality I decided on this crop. I like the composition that resulted and hope you do too. Was lucky with the golden light pic. All it needed was a tiny bit of sharpening.
