Fraternal greetings to all and sundry. may God almighty be with us and guide us through this new month and beyond. ASUP strike to me is an act of God although it was initiated by men and the solution lies with them but it is only God that can show them the solution and still tell them how to use it. As a student, I do not have the power to influence the strike not even the Rector let alone the HODs or Deans within Fedpoffa can do it. My contact together with the editorial board of ASISAN with Dr S.A. Ojeniyi (ASUP Chairman Fedpoffa Chapter) made me realized that there are a lot underneath this ongoing strike. But for security reasons I may not be able to talk about it now. Not only that, in another visit to another notable person within our citadel of learning we were told that very soon the strike would be called off, but since then nothing has been done. The SUG president together with his cabinet took a very bold step after series of dialogue with various agencies on this ongoing strike gathered the available students for a protest on January 6th were the main Olofa way was blocked for about 7 hours. On that day, the Deputy Rector Academic addressed us on the issue and vowed that very soon something reasonable would be done but since then despite their series in house meetings we have not received any good development pertaining to the strike. Not up to two weeks ago, there was NEC and ASUP meeting but the outcome of the meeting was that in the next two weeks there is going to be another NEC and ASUP meeting. So, any moment from now the meeting would come up and we hope for a favourable outcome. I want to urge all of us not to be frustrated, you should know that we are there together. If because of the strike we start to hurl insult on one another, remember the strike will soon go. Wassalam, is not the cause and the right thinkers among us will equally know that no students could be blamed for it. Using abusive words on social networks on someone is more or less as if you are lowering his personality in minds of the right thinking members of public. Let what we learnt in school, our religion impact in us. When you are angry dont talk, when you are happy dont promise... Thank you for reading it. Happy new month once again. Salami Wasiu A.(Wassalam).
