Freedom is something that is earned? Freedom is a God-given right? Maybe is it a God-given right that needs to be maintained? How do we go about maintaining our freedom? Many of us are having our freedom infringed upon and we don’t even realize it. Our freedom is being infringed upon by the very things we desire. “What God has put together let no man put asunder.” We are often the very person who puts “asunder” our own freedom which God has put together with the human person. We need to participate in the grace which God pours down upon us. I think though many of us do not even know where to begin in participating in that grace. Has our very basic ability to act been atrophied? Have we become so weak that we cannot even lift our heads to think about walking towards the finish line? If this is so what hope is there for the children of God? Well I suppose we could rely on God’s mercy that He understands the state into which we have allowed ourselves to atrophy. Or should we seek out ways to begin lifting our head to exercise those muscles that some day we will be strong enough to sit up straight and eventually stand which will lead to eventually taking a step so that we can walk with confidence in the future which will someday strengthen use to begin the run towards where God calls us to be. If so what is the process where by we strengthen ourselves overtime in this process? As with all processes there must be a foundation on which the process must stand. There must be action which we can take to begin this long journey. What actions can you take to begin the journey towards freedom from the behaviors that bind you?
