From Cork County Council - sounds like a new, complicated way to have your say in Cork County. Heres what theyre proposing - deadline Feb 4th to participate it sounds like. You may have heard of changes that are happening in local government and the impact for citizen engagement and community representation. Cork County Council is establishing a new network to enable people in Cork County to have a say on issues that concern them. This will be known as the Public Participation Network (PPN). It is a new national initiative and will be the main link through which Cork County Council will engage with the community and voluntary, social inclusion and environmental sectors. All groups / organisations are invited to register and participate in this new network. Online registration for the Public Participation Network is now open and will continue until February 4th 2015. In accordance with the national guidelines, when registering, groups will be asked to self- select from the three Electoral Colleges, the one that is most relevant to their aims and activities (i.e. community and voluntary, environmental or social inclusion).
