(Bitte auf Ihre bevorzugte Sprache unten klicken - Please click on your preferred language below...) Dear colleagues, We are sure that you are all aware of what happened just recently in the Philippines. One of the most powerful storms on record to make landfall, Haiyan - named Yolanda by Philippine authorities - struck the coastal provinces of Leyte and Samar. Fortunately, no employee of PUMA was harmed by the Typhoon. However, many people in the most affected areas, including relatives of local colleagues, are in dire need of emergency relief. Tacloban, a city of about 220,000 people on Leyte island, bore the full force of the winds and the tsunami-like storm surges Friday. Most of the city is in ruins, a tangled mess of destroyed houses, cars and trees. In total nine million people have been affected. Its time to take action now. Please help us to support the affected people in the Philippines! Together with our employee organization Charity Cat, we are aiming to set up a rapid support fund. PUMA will donate 25,000 Euros. Every Dollar and Euro counts, so if you can, please help by making a donation using the account details below until Friday of next week, 29th November 2013. Charity Cat will serve as a point of contact to avoid single transfers. The fund will be used for emergency relief in the affected areas, including rescue equipment, food, water and medical supplies; as well as the rebuilding effort that is expected to take up to more than a year. Further details will follow. All donations received via the below account details or dropped in the boxes in the canteens in Herzogenaurach until the end of next week will be used for this purpose. Thank you very much for your solidarity and help. It will make a huge difference in the lives of those affected by the natural disaster! Your PUMA and Charity Cat
