From Marks Daughter Laura: Hi, Team MB! Another update after MBs scan this morning. Unfortunately, the MRI showed some subtle new growth since the last MRI in October, but a couple options exist at this point! The one definite course is to add a new chemo agent, Lamustine (CCNU), to the current bi-weekly Avastin. This new drug, taken every 6 weeks, works with the Avastin to help it better penetrate into the cancer cells. Dad will take the first round this evening. The other possible addition is for MB to jump back on the Novocure TTF space helmet to add another layer of treatment. A couple insurance hoops would have to be jumped through before this is started back up! MB continues to impress us with his positive attitude. His fatigue continues, but all in all, dad is doing well -- keeping loose with yoga, heading down to campus for the occasional meeting or class, and cheering on the Buckeyes (football, hockey, and basketball!). Maren comes in tomorrow for a weekend visit and we are looking forward to some downtime with her. Baby Calland #2 is officially due tomorrow, too, so we are waiting to see when he or she decides to make his/her debut!
