From: McPherson County for Davis-Docking: NEXT STEPS Our group, McPherson County for Davis-Docking, worked on behalf of candidates who advocated for common sense leadership in Kansas. Although we collaborated with the McPherson County Democratic Central Committee and other groups during the campaign, we are not part of the Democratic Party. Membership includes Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. As an organization born of the campaign, we need to redefine and redirect our work now that the elections are over. To that end, we are delighted to announce a Connect! Unite! Act! Event. Featured Speaker: Chris Reeves, Kansas/Missouri Daily Kos leader Chris Reeves is an experienced grassroots organizer who has worked in California (Los Angeles), Colorado (Denver), Missouri (Columbia, Jefferson City, Kansas City), and Kansas (Garden City, Lawrence, Salina, Topeka, Wichita). He knows our state well and is committed to bringing about state-wide political change by starting at the local level. Please join us for a lively discussion about how we can work together to grow an inclusive, progressive movement in McPherson County. What issues are most important to you? How can we address issues that matter to you? All ideas are welcome! To learn more about Connect! Unite! Act! events, go to my Facebook page (Deborah Bailey). Chris Reeves wrote an article about an up-coming CUA event in Overland Park, which I re-posted from Women for Kansas. We invite participants to bring finger food to share with the group. Cookies, veggie plates, cheese and crackers, or any of your favorite treats will be much appreciated. Drinks, cups, napkins, and plates will be provided. Please know this is only a suggestion. What we want most of all is for you to join the discussion. Use the link below to let us know you are coming. Our meeting starts at 6:30 pm to allow time for signing in, getting snacks, and socializing. The time Chris posted (7:00 pm) is when he’ll be set up and ready to begin. Feel free to invite friends.
