From Nick Bender KMBC The coldest days of this prolonged, arctic air outbreak are on the way for the start of the work week! Record cold highs and lows are expected, along with bitterly cold wind chill values. Depending on the type of clothing you are wearing, and the rate your body loses heat, wind chill values could be as cold as 10° BELOW zero Monday morning. Wind burn, and in extreme cases frost bite, can develop with prolonged outdoor exposure. Just bundle up! In fact, bundle up tomorrow afternoon as well. Strong northerly winds and increased cloud cover will result in feel-like temperatures not making it above 10° in Kansas City. KCs record cold high for tomorrow is 24° - well be lucky to make it to 20°. Tuesday morning will be the culmination of our extended cold snap. With a snow pack covering much of the Midwest, a clear sky and calm winds low temperatures Tuesday morning will range between 0° and 10°. KCs record low for Tuesday morning is 14° - expect the temperature to be closer to 7°. Make sure you pay extra attention to what the kiddos are wearing out there at the bus stop Monday and Tuesday.
