From The Concluding Thursday Revival Hour Message for this year(yesterday been the last Thursday) in my location. MY CONCLUSION! Text: Psalm 73:1-28 Introduction: As the year goes to a conclusive expiration in matter of days from now, our respective experiences often leave us with one conclusion or the other. These may be positively oriented, as it can as well be otherwise. The psalmist in our text was not left out; the vicissitude of life necessitated arriving at certain conclusions on him. He initially had a wrong perception of the prosperous but lost sinners, from which he drew inferences/conclusions. He needed to go to the Sanctuary of God to be able to make the right assessment of these pitiable group of people. Thank God, in the last of all his conclusions he exclaimed Truly God is good to Israel(His people), even to such as are of a clean heart.(vs 1). This terminal exhortation was considered in three brief sub-headings as follow; 1. THE WRONG PERCEPTION OF IGNORANT BELIEVER Vs 2-16,22; The psalmist, a saint of God was bewildered as to the rationality behind the seemingly prosperity of the wicked. Why am I a believer? He retorted, when the sinners are not just getting away with their evil deeds, but are also prospering in the same, while I, a believer still have many of my needs as unmet; does it really worth it afterall?! My search and pursuit after righteousness and holy living, of what significance?! I may have to consider the option of living like an infidel, or what do u think?! 😤 All these were the thoughts going through the tempted heart of this King Davids choir master, Asaph (1Chron 16:5,7). Thank God for His mercy; the Holy Spirit had to stir him up to quickly go into the Sanctuary, where he could see the true picture of the though prosperous, but lost sinners . Hence the 2nd sub-heading; 2. THE REAL PIX OF THE PROSPEROUS BUT LOST SINNERS Vs 16-22,27; 37:1-2. His resolution to enquire of God in His Sanctuary of His bewildered state yielded result, as the Holy Spirit painstakingly took him through the real pictures of the seemingly prosperous but lost sinners. Sinners are not living(as they seem), they are (actually) dying. Then he realized how foolish he was (vs 22), in envying the people that should be envying him. The Holy Spirit then further reiterated on the provisions and portions that the Heavenly have for those that love God, who are the called according to His purpose; leading us to the 3rd sub-heading. 3. THE REALITY OF GODS PROVISIONS FOR AND HIS PRESENCE WITH HIS OWN. Vs 22-28. Psalm 37:1-40. Apart from seeing the sinners in their pitiable state following the Sanctuary Inquisition, Asaph (the CM) also came to the knowledge of Divinitys provisions for the righteous. The inexhaustible list has on it, among other benefits; the Presence of God with His own (vs 23), that shields them from evil; Divine guidance in the wilderness of life(vs 24); God as the sure Strength of believers heart in trying time(vs 26) and in summary, God Himself with His possibilities as the very portion of His own (vs 25). LESSONS/IMPORT Thank God for people like Asaph, who dare to share with us of His life experience, even of his near backsliding state, that arise from wrong perception and inference . Some pertinent lessons include that; ➡As believers, we should not make inference in haste; look and ponder through properly, even with divine searching. Not all that glitters is gold, especially in this days of electroplating. ➡Believers SHOULD NEVER envy sinners; we forever have what they dont have(except they repent). And no amount of what they have can be compare to our earthly and heavenly heritage(Matthew 19:29). So lets not envy them. ➡We should learn to be appreciative to God; for whom He is and what He had/is doing for us, and not unnecessarily focusing on those things were still expecting from Him. ➡While expecting our best from God, instead of envying the though prosperous but lost sinners, we should use these unfailing triple regimen 1. We should examine ourselves, so the devil wont have anything to hinder us with. 2. We should pray the prayer of faith, because the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much James 5:16 3. We should wait patiently as we expect our miracles, and that in faithfulness to our spiritual and physical obligations, because faithful is He who has promised who also will do it Heb 10: 23. ➡Lastly, sinners should not be deceived, his or her seemingly success now is rather apparent indeed. He/she should know that he is not living but dying (vs 27) To all children of God outside there, as this aged year is fading away, in all my experiences, I find it most convenient to arrive at the same conclusion with the final one made by my counterpart (in king Davids time ) CM Asaph that Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. (Vs 1) How about u.
