From Whitney Neugebauer: For those of you living in the Seattle/Eastside area wanting to do some good in your backyard that will help our beloved whales: Join us May 10th with Bothell’s Friends of North Creek Forest to get our hands dirty making the forest a healthy and fun place to learn and explore! The forest is a valuable resource not only for us, but for whales, too! Southern Resident Killer Whales, which many of us have had the thrilling experience of watching in the wild, are endangered. This means they are at risk of going extinct within the next 100 years. One of the biggest things we can do to help these orcas (killer whales) is to make sure they have enough salmon to eat. Since salmon rely on our forests and streams to produce their young, we can help salmon AND whales at North Creek Forest! Orca recovery begins in the tree tops!
