The Niagara Foundation is a Non-Profit organization located near Millennium Park in Chicago with other locations around the U.S. Their mission, to keep it short, is to bring people together. They work to foster conversations and build relationships between people of different religions, backgrounds, political views, etc. The foundation offers internship programs to college/graduate students sophomore year+ 3 times a year which run 12 weeks with 12 hours mandatory for each week. The program is unpaid but is eligible for college credit. The Niagara Foundation is currently seeking out an intern for their Cultural Exchange & Interfaith Collaboration program for the Fall 2014 session. The intern would start beginning of September. Niagara Foundation’s Center for Cultural Exchange & Interfaith Collaboration encourages pluralism by providing opportunities for all cultures, communities and faith groups to be engaged in dialogue though a variety of programs. Notable programs include the Annual Abrahamic Traditions Dinner, Annual Friendship & Dialogue Dinner, Abraham’s Tent, and Sharing the Faith. Interns assigned to the Center for Cultural Exchange and Interfaith Collaboration will participate in a learning environment where they will gain valuable work experience in the field of interreligious dialogue and community development. Interns will assist the Center’s Director with daily operations, as well as overseeing the development, strategic planning and evaluation of larger, long- term projects. Interns will also have the option to participate in weekly one-to- one informal mentoring conversations with the Director.
