From our latest newsletter: Issue 16 August/September... It is an interesting thought that the extreme violence and general intolerance that we are experiencing today is the real motivation behind our next evolutionary step. Although we sometimes cannot understand why we have been so full of animosity towards each other, and this is of course due to our detachment from the planet, it is only because of this that we are able to see another path. I wonder how many civilisations have come and gone without a trace because of their failure to adapt. What we find difficult to comprehend is the extraordinary amount of time that has elapsed since the first stirrings of life all those millions of years ago. We live short lives, a blink in cosmic time – yet each blink is a necessary link in this seemingly unending chain. What is important is what we leave behind us. History tends to favour the notorious, which is why today many activists resort to extreme measures to get their message across – there is major difference to their actions – they are preventing lives from being taken – they are not taking lives. As with each revolution it takes time. This revolution is the one where we begin to understand who we are and how we interact with everything around us. What is important is to remember how to react. And it is this information that we need to be passing on for future generations. The information of sustainability; of population explosion control; of education for all; of eradication of poverty and the need to preserve our wild life and the plants around us. Much is starting to happen beyond the lecture rooms and this is very encouraging. This is the process of time. That road that takes us ever forward; the road that we can either pave with gold or scar with lead. The choice is always ours. This issue is about our interaction with Time. How through Time we have travelled a great highway in order for you to read this in the here and now.
