From our season subscriber Peggi Wood on Trojan Women. A story of women . . . and men. There are stories that frame our shared understanding of what it means to be a woman - and a man; not only in times of war, but, we fear, in time immortal. Resurrections production of Howard Colyers adaptation of Senecas TROJAN WOMEN is such a story. From the shuddering STOMP, STOMP, STOMP of marauding men surrounding the supine feminine, this is a story of hegemonic desire as relevant today as it was in 415BC. Yet it is not only a tale of conquerors and vanquished, of bargains that must be kept, sacrifices made, it is also a tale of the compromises of spirit. And that is always a tragedy. For women . . . and men There are still tickets available at the door.
