From the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Authorities are looking for a red pickup truck that knocked out power on the east side of the city and fled the scene. At 2:56 p.m. Friday, a newer Dodge Ram pickup truck lost control near the intersection of 12th Street and Parkwood Drive, just south of the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department Station One, and hit a utility pole, Wisconsin Rapids Police Department Lt. Keven Schwartz said. The truck, which had no front license plate and a back license plate covered with snow, continued south on 12th Street and was last seen going west on Wood Avenue, Schwartz said. It had a driver and one passenger. The Wisconsin Rapids Water and Lighting Commission reports it restored all power except that at the Fire Department, Shopko and other small stores in the area. Anyone who sees the red pickup, which has front-end damage, is asked to call authorities, Schwartz said. People with information to share about this crime who want to remain anonymous can text Wood County Crime Stoppers at 274637 and start the message with WCCS. People also can visit the Wood County Crime Stoppers website, woodcountycrimestoppers, and send a tip or call 877-325-7867. They can remain anonymous on any of the tip options and still be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
