Funeral of Wolves legend Peter Broadbent to take place The funeral of Wolves legend Peter Broadbent will take place tomorrow. It will take place at St Peter’s Collegiate Church, in Wolverhampton city centre, at 1.45pm. The cortege will pause briefly at Molineux en route to the church where staff will gather outside and pay their respects. Molineux will be also awash with emotion tonight as Wolves pay tribute to the late great at the game against Notts County. Peter’s widow, Shirley, 78, will attend the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second-round tie with family members. The crowd join in a minute’s applause for the legendary player, recognised as the most naturally gifted footballer to have played for Wolves. Peter’s grand-daughters Rosie, 14, and Mollie, 11 – daughters of his son Gary and wife Pat – will don Wolves shirts and join Shirley in laying flowers behind one of the goals. Grandson Nick Smith, 29 – son of Peter’s daughter Debbie, 57 - has flown back from Afghanistan where he is a serving officer in the RAF to be at tonight’s game and the funeral tomorrow. Jack Broadbent - Peter’s brother - his wife Janet and their children Sue and Derek and Derek’s sons Matthew and Christopher will also be at the game.
