Funny how peoples lives cross paths: Saw personal items in my backyard and my back gate open this am. Neighbor is out of town and I checked her place and found a young man sleeping in her basement. I had a knife and told him I wouldnt hurt him if he just leaves. From his response I could tell he was mentally disabled. As he left I asked if there was anything I could do, he paused as if to say yes, then said no and walked off. I get home from work and he was in the back yard again. Had my neighbor call police while I sat and chatted with him. He was very disoriented, but gave me his parents number. Come to find out, hes autistic and has been a missing person for a few days. I sat with him so he wouldnt be scared when the police came. He said he came back because I was nice and thought I could help. Glad we crossed paths.
