Funny story - tonight, my husband and I, after a long day at work, ended up at the MB store here in Epping/#63. We usually stop by and see how everyone is doing, share some positive news, do some errands in the plaza. While we were there talking to a few part time associates, a young couple walked up, said hi and walked into the store. After a few minutes they came out and asked if they could ask questions. So they did. The associates answered them all. Turns out they are on vacation and had driven up from New York City; a really sweet couple. They had seen the Market Basket story on CNN. They were in awe of what was taking place and were so excited to actually be driving by a store. They HAD to stop in and couldnt believe how empty the store was. The wife said that even at 4am in NYC the small stores still have customers. They said theyd never in their life seen anything like it. They couldnt get over the solidarity of associates and customers. They wanted to see it with their own eyes. They said this could never happen in New York for so many reasons. It was really sweet to watch their reactions. When they left they expressed their appreciation for the hospitality and conversation and wished everyone the best that ATD would be back soon. And no, they didnt buy a thing :) #YouCantFireCustomersWeQuit
