Further important information from Chuck Wallace of GH County Emergency Management. (However one major correction is that the disposal at Olympic Stadium is for anyone who lives in Hoquiam. Because much of it is brought by volunteers the copy of the utility bill is not as important as we originally thought it would be.) Major General Bret Daugherty, the Adjutant General for Washington State, Visited the Flood and Landslide Impacted Areas Today Friday Jan. 9, 2015 Today, Major General Bret Daugherty, The Adjutant General for Washington State, who commands all Army and Air National Guard Forces and who is also the Director of the State Emergency Management and Enhanced 911 Programs and Robert Ezelle, the Director of the Washington Military Department Emergency Management Division visited the flood damaged areas of Grays Harbor County this morning. They met with officials from Aberdeen, Hoquiam and from Grays Harbor County to view and discuss the impact of the flooding and landslides. General Daugherty and Mr. Ezelle pledged their continued support to the county and cities affected. They returned to Camp Murray to brief the Governor about our situation and to discuss with their staff how to set in motion the Small Business Loan Program for our victims of the flooding and landslides. They are also sending personnel to assist our jurisdictions on Public Damage reporting on damaged infrastructure and for individual homeowner and renter damage reporting. It is essential for anyone who received damage from the flooding and/or the landslides to complete a preliminary damage report. When you fill out the report, you are assisting everyone affected by adding your damages to the total. Remember, the possibility of receiving assistance from government programs CANNOT BE GUARANTEED, however the more people who report, the closer we arrive to the threshold for assistance. Renters and homeowners can begin to report damages on the form at this link. co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/DEM/EMailEMD140.asp HOUSING & LANDLORD/TENANT ISSUES Individuals needing housing assistance or are experiencing landlord /tenant issues are encouraged to call Coastal Community Action Program (CCAP) at 360-533-5100. CCAP can also provide guidance to those on SNAP who suffered a loss of stored food during the flood. RELIEF FUND SET UP AT ANCHOR BANK Many, many people have been impacted significantly by this event. Repairs and clean-up will be costly to those affected. A relief fund has been set up at Anchor Bank and at Great Northwestern Federal Credit Union (any branch) to assist our Grays Harbor County friends, family and neighbors. All funds will go directly towards assisting those in need following this disaster. ** BE ALERT FOR SCAMS ** Please be extremely cautious about contractors and those soliciting monies at your door. DO NOT allow entry to anyone or give money to those soliciting without checking with your city or the county first! DEBRIS REMOVAL FOR HOQUIAM AND ABERDEEN ABERDEEN DEBRIS REMOVAL: 5 LOCATIONS!
