GM, Are you ready for Me? Are you ready for it? No youre not, only I am: Hyatt Regency Valencia 24500 Town Center Drive Valencia, California, USA, 91355 Re: Management Position Follow Up Management, Thank you for meeting with me this past week to discuss my interest in the open Food and Beverage Management position. On a personal level, meeting with each of you was a pleasure. Sitting down one on one with you each of you is something I’ve never done before. On a social level, I enjoyed learning from and getting to know you all a little bit. To illustrate one of many positive impacts this process left on me, at the end of my four of five meetings, Chef Rolf caught me off guard. He asked, “What do you like to do when you’re not working?” I’ve never thought much about this question. My immediate, wholly impromptu answer was, “Spending time with my puppy.” I love canines, always have. I particularly fell in love with this puppy, who I call Buddy. He’s a Standard Poodle, without the Poodle haircut. My close friend first named him Pee-er. He was brought to us as a gift when he was seven weeks old, yet to be potty-trained. He “had normal accidents” in the house. With a little outside coaching, my friend and I swiftly had Buddy potty trained - within two weeks. After that, my friend shifted his name from “Pee-er” to “Pierre”. But I call him Buddy - because he’s my friend. This personal/work question caused me to think – and I thank Chef for asking it. A more thorough response is now on my “to do list”, to aid me in better organizing my “non-work” time. On a professional note, regardless of what course in this avenue takes, I’m grateful to you for considering me for the position. I appreciate your valued time in this regard. Our collective meetings were edifying - a business learning experience that left an impact on me. Together, you gave me a better understanding of what management is and does in keeping our business operating smoothly. The insight you left me with ranges from hiring and staff relations to a preview of your “Management Division of Labor” expertise, knowledge base, skills and application in day to day operations of our Hotel, Food and Beverage business. In sum, Mr. Prescott merely suggested I interview for the referenced post, then decided if I’m really interested. I am. For me, our meetings solidified that I do want this position with Hyatt, International and Noble – to learn from, contribute and professionally grow with you all.
