GNLF Terai unit gears up for GP elections MIRIK, 30 May 2014: The Gorkha National Liberation Front has decided to contest the Gram Panchayat elections slated for July this year. As part of the preparations, the party’s Terai units have started various activities to galvanise supporters. The GNLF has decided to field six candidates from Upper Bagdogra under Naxalbari block and seven from the Maniram GP area. The decision was taken today during a party meeting under the chairmanship of Terai GNLF leader Balkrishna Sharma, who informed the candidates’ names would be soon announced. The GNLF has also decided to contest in the municipality election of Mirik later this year. (EOIC)
