GOLDEN ROCK (Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda) Golden Rock Pagoda, in Myanmar - TopicsExpress

GOLDEN ROCK (Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda) Golden Rock Pagoda, in Myanmar language, Kyite Htee Yoe Phayar, is one of the breath-taking scenery and the rock is also considered sacred for Myanmar people. The pagoda is located in Mon State and some inexplicable phenomena of the pagoda is that the big boulder on which the pagoda was built perched on Mount Kyaikhtiyoe, the highest mountain of Paunglaung mountain range. A glimpse of the pagoda on the big rock "defying gravity" is enough inspiration for any person to turn to Buddhism. To travel to Kyite Htee Yoe pagoda, it will take a 4-hour drive from Yangon to the foot of the hill, where the journey will proceed in an open truck up to the hermit hill. It is the third most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Burma after the Shwedagon and the Mahamuni Pagoda. Please read more in my next letter.
