GREAT Nora news - it is not eclampsia. Nora has a nasty urinary track infection. IV fluids and antibiotics turned things around very quickly. It may have been coming on about the time she had the c-section and the post surgical antibiotic keep the urinary track infection under control, but not being the best drug for that battle, it did not clear up the entire infection. When the initial antibiotic was finished two days later the infection took over. The new antibiotic regime will prohibit Nora nursing, but we were within days of weaning anyway. Nora is back home now and I think she somehow knows the puppies’ teeth have started to come through – she wants nothing to do with them.
