GREETINGS from Smith Creek Cabin!!! A very special THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart is sent to so many this morning. Some of you are not on FB but those of you listed within this post please accept my heartfelt gratitude for all that you did to support me in helping make our very first A Kentucky Cabin Christmas Christmas Open House such a HUGE success!!! As most of you know Kathy Anthony aka Sugar Bucket Antiques is not active through FB but keeps abreast of things through her husband Eddie Anthony. I am extending you her heartfelt thanks as well!!! First off I want to thank all of our guests who visited our event and took time to check out all of the festivities and be a part of our gathering of friends. Many of you were filled with such interest in the cabin itself and the history of the place. Others were taken with the BEAUTY BERRY shrubs outside the cabin. NOTE: I will be offering small seedlings in the spring when the garden shop reopens with plants. Again, thank you all for supporting small business and choosing to shop local!!! Those of you that know me are aware of how strongly I feel about the importance of community support!! Frannie Stevens-Meshorer I want to thank you for your beautiful spirit you bring to us all! Your help in spreading the word about our event and contributing your fabulous art and talent were so appreciated. I love your spirit and joy you bring with you and those you surround yourself with. Such creative women and such great friends. Cat Wells Harting and Joyce Bakle it was a pleasure to have you join us and be a part of our festivities. Also thanks for tweaking the shop for me as well! Rita Matney you were a super hero! I was amazed and so delighted with the spectacular display you created with the fresh greenery! I cant tell you how many compliments I received from the ladies taking your wreath workshop at the talent, guidance, skill and patience you extended to all of them. I understand that the cozy quarters turned out to be too cozy and some of the ladies about had a melt down. Under the circumstances I just wasnt prepared to offer more comfortable space and beg forgiveness from all of you. Rita you waved a magic wand!! Randall Colvin you played us some very beautiful music and now take a bow! Thank you so very much for your lovely performance!!! I just wish I had been able to listen to you play. You and Dottie are such beautiful people and we loved having you both be with us yesterday. I am excited for you to hear that you will soon be receiving some family pictures by way of my adopted son Brent. I love it when good things happen!! Thanks again Randy!!! We were honored! Donna Gaddis you are absolutely my knight in shining armor!!!!! Thank you for coming to my aid in ever so many ways!! You did such a fantastic job of dressing the staircase the evening before and totally running the shop the day of the event. This allowed me to handle the workshops and say hello to the guests when time permitted. Also, you are to be commended for the time and energy you selflessly extend helping those who have ventures they are so diligently trying to promote. You do an awesome job on FB helping those connect to make the world a better place. I truly love you from the bottom of my heart! Marsha Reddick you have been a real trooper!!! You hung in there with Rita out in the bitter cold dressing the cabin and grounds with beautiful greenery. Such a cheerful spirit and true joy to be around. Your my Prim blue blood friend and I just loved the wreath you made! Thanks for all your support and help spreading the word to our prim groups and all the prim fans of the world on FB!! And.............you were a perfect cabin greeter!!! Super big thanks and hugs. So looking forward to The Prim Fair joining Smith Creek Cabin next year. I just love you. You know that! THANKS!! Sherri Noland you are the best ever friend and thank you for coming to my aid manning the beverage station!!! You were also such a trooper helping me quickly make magic of the mess for the next workshop!!! I know you did so much more as you always do whatever one needs help with!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Your hard work enabled the ladies in the kitchen to devote their time to helping our guests enjoy the wonderland of goodies they had to offer!!! Super big special hugs!! I will see you on TUESDAY for our special time together in Bowling Green!!! I can hardly wait! Dorvals granddaughter Cierra Hunter Price took time from her very busy Collegiate life to come to my aid in the shop. You are a special trooper!! Thanks so much for being so dependable and willing to help us out!!! Much love and hugs to you!! Brent Beard and Jake Cobble you are real troopers manning the parking fort and fetching the firewood! I can always depend on you Brent to come through for me. I just wish I could see you more often. The biggest hugs and jam cake coming your way. You are still my adopted son!!! Still waiting on those papers to sign! :) Lisa Loudon OKeefe came to the rescue through the entire day helping with everything at hand. You name it she did it! Lisa, hope you had a great day and hope you had time to roast a marshmallow. Also, kudos to Pat for repairing the ceiling in the sun room on such short notice! He does the best every work!!! If he ever needs recommendations he has it!!! A special guest appearance from Carol Patrick Niswender and Kelly Niswender was very much welcomed!! Thanks for running to put our signs back up and Kelly he so enjoyed seeing you and your visit in the barn!! CAN WE PLEASE GET TOGETHER SOON?!!!! Jana Esch I appreciate you working with me on your menu and for being such a trooper with the difficult setup with the food service. Your vegetable beef soup was awesome!!!! It was just the thing to warm and nourish our cold tired bodies. It was a great treat also that I didnt have to do anything for supper except warm it up and crash!! Thanks again for joining our event! Last but not least...........................Barbara Armitage with Tuckers Station Farm Staff and Caitlin Helm for umpteen millon things!! You girls outdone yourself!!! The yummy goodies you worked so hard on baking and packaging so beautiful was the hit of the parade!!! Barbara, that was the absolute best carrot cake I have ever eaten! I prize myself with offering the best but now I must bow down and take second stage with this one!!! LOL..................NO REALLY, it was DIVINE!!! So folks, if you are reading this...............................she is your answer to your holiday baking needs. Sorry Barbara....................yes, I will help you bake if you get too many orders. :) Cait, I simply could live on your caramel frosting on the Shenandoah Valley Apple Cake with Caramel frosting!!!!!! BTW.......I purchased the made from scratch (folks this means from planting the seed and growing the pumpkin to making the crust as well) pumpkin pie as a thank you to Phil for his willingness to dog sit Speedy and Ernie and do odd man jobs that just needed a slave to do. He has eaten half of it already and said it was absolutely the best he has ever eaten. Again............I must take second place! Willow......................you outdid yourself with greeting our guests!!!! You are an angel and Aunt Cait will let you know how much I think of you and appreciate the trooper you were yesterday. I see a bright and prosperous future for your winning personality!!! I have to say a special thank you to my better half Dorval who put up with all of my madness through this all. He is a very quiet, reserved, and private person and he opened his home to allow all of us to share in the joy of the season and fellowship! He actually had a nice time and got to meet some special folks. I am a lucky girl to share my life with so many beautiful people and my soul mate. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO MADE OUR FIRST OPEN HOUSE A SUCCESS!!!! Sincerely, Susan Pennington Smith Creek Cabin
