GRuBs 7th annual Day of the Bed event this past Saturday was a success! We were able to build gardens for 6 different KGP gardener families this year. A huge thanks to our wonderful volunteer build teams: Olympia Federal Savings, West Olympia Rotary, Citizen Access Residential Resources, Slow Food Greater Olympia, and the GRuB Board of Directors! The six teams collectively raised $4,000 to support our Kitchen Garden Project. Additionally, all the teams raised awareness around food sustainability and self-sufficiency in Thurston and Mason counties by increasing the access to healthy food in our community. Big thank-you to Ramblin Jacks and the Ramblin Restaurant Group for their sponsorship of the event! Additional donations of food were provided by Blue Heron Bakery, Olympia Coffee Roasting Co., Ralph’s and Bayview Thriftway, Haggen Food & Pharmacy, and San Francisco Street Bakery. Heres to the end of a great KGP build season, thanks to all our staff, gardeners, and volunteers!
