Gamera vs. Barugon (1966). All I can say is this movie is fantastic. It is hands down the best Showa Gamera film. It has a really good plot and very good and interesting human characters. Also, no annoying little kid ! Also a very good music score Chūji Kinoshita. Barugon himself is an awesome monster and man does he have a very threatening roar. The destruction scene in Osaka is great and the monster fights are fun to watch. My biggest problem with this movie really is the lack of Gamera and his place in the story. He really doesnt play a big part in the story and barely his enough screen time. You could easily have cut him. On the bright side, he is awesome when he is on screen. The special effects are great, a huge improvement from the last film and the cinematography is great. Overall, Gamera vs. Barugon (1966) is a great kaiju film, and hands down the best film to come from the Showa series. My rating: 4.5/5
