Gang of The Thief... The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - Jn 10:10 Satan through his agents comes only to steal your joy, kill your hope and destroy your love of God. Religion of men is one of the agents of satan in this world. One day Jesus said to the religious Jews, You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (John 8:44 NKJV) • Jesus Christ is the Truth, and what satan does is to influence religious sect to believe not the truth; When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. (Matthew 13:19 NKJV) > Satan does not want people to believe the truth they hear preached to them, because he know that when they hear and believe Jesus, and continue in His word, they become His disciples indeed. And they shall know the truth, and the truth shall make them free from every bondage (Jn 8:31-32). • Who are the gang of the thief? Then Jesus said to them again...All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. (John 10:7-8 NKJV) > In figure of speech, all that ever lived, preached, taught and led before Jesus came are thieves and robbers; listening to them and obeying them above the word of Jesus steals your joy, kills your hope of glory and destroys your love for God. • Religion of men kills, steals and destroys through their teachings and practices. Their teachings and practices are opposite of the commandments of Jesus. About the religious people Paul said, But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. (II Corinthians 3:14 NKJV) > Although the Old Testament scriptures were inspired by God, yet it blindfold those who still read them without the help of the Holy Spirit; But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (II Corinthians 3:15-17 NKJV) • It takes the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus to be free from the curse and bondage of religion. > Those who are in Christ Jesus are charged to Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage...You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law/religion; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision/law nor uncircumcision/religion avails anything, but faith working through love. (Galatians 5:1, 4-6 NKJV) • If Jesus could say to the Jews who loved the old law You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do; what are you Gentile is doing when you want to observe that same law? > You are blinded by the devil; whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (II Corinthians 4:4 NKJV) Whose desire are you doing? • When you dont believe that Jesus has paid it all, and you trying to please God by observing the old law, you do the desire of satan and block the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, that should shine on you. > But when you believe Jesus has paid it all and His grace is enough, then having been justified by faith, you have peace with God through your Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also you have access by faith into this grace in which you can stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Rom 5:1-2). • Friends, If you truly and completely in Christ Jesus, that same God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, will shine in your hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2Cor 4:6). > Yes, the thief will always come to steal your joy, and to kill your hope of glory, and to destroy your love for God. But you have a big Brother, Who have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly (Jn 10:10). • Abundant life is only found in Jesus Christ, for in Him is life, and the life is the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overpower it (Jn 1:4-5). > If He is in you, you are of God, and have overcome the gang of the thief, because Christ Who is in you is greater than satan who is in the world; Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the true Light of the world. He who follows Him shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life forever (1Jn 4:4. Jn 8:12). + Finally friends, my prayer for you is that you believe and follow Jesus from now on and forever; May you have and walk in the light of the Lord the rest of your life in Jesus Name! Amen! You are greater than all the agents of satan, so give no place to the devil. (Eph 4:27)
