Generals are fulfilling their oaths to the Constitution and standing up to fight the enemy WITHIN. It’s yet another sign of the military’s discontent with their current commander in chief. And it’s so public that every American should stand up and take notice. What’s even more unusual is that both retired and active duty military leaders are speaking out — endangering not only their legacies, but their careers. President Barack Obama’s softness on radical Islamic terrorism and his willingness to negotiate with the likes of the Taliban for the return of accused Army deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has drawn sharp criticism from both retired four-star Army Gen. Jack Keane and former Air Force Maj. Gen. Bentley Rayburn. Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely has long been an outspoken critic of President Barack Obama and has called for peaceful revolution through marches and protests to demand the resignation of the president and his inner circle. Air Force Brig. Gen. Charles Jones joined Vallely on a “citizen’s council” to challenge Obama administration policies directly. And if that weren’t enough, both retired Army Maj. Gen. and Medal of Honor recipient Patrick Henry Brady and, more troubling to the administration, active-duty Marine Gen. John Kelly, Commander of U.S. Southern Command, have argued about the tremendous threat posed to national security by the nation’s porous southern border. These military leaders understand in ways that most American cannot what it is like to make high-level decisions, carry them out, and then deal with the consequences.
