Ghana is now the second country in sub-Saharan Africa with the highest rate of power accessibility. That’s according to Energy and Petroleum Minister Emmanuel Kofi Buah. He said Ghana is closely following South Africa with electricity accessibility of more than 72 percent. Mr Kofi Buah tells XYZ Business government is optimistic about meeting its target of universal access by 2016. “We are very proud of the things we have been able to do despite the challenges. We know that we have increase power accessibility by almost 72 percent, the second in Africa. We have made a lot of progress with thermal generation”, said the Energy Minister Ghana ranked 2nd in electricity accessibility Mr Buah added government is hoping to make Ghana a net exporter of energy for the benefit of other countries in the sub-region.
