God, Your God Deuteronomy 6:5 Here’s some excellent advice: “Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!” Deuteronomy 6:5 (MSG). This golden nugget of truth is the key to true and lasting happiness. The best way to have joy is to love God, to really love Him, to throw yourself headlong and wholeheartedly into an ever-deepening relationship with your Creator. I love the way this verse begins: “Love God, your God…” You see, God isn’t just the God of the Israelites, or the God of the Bible, or the God of Christianity, or the God of this church or that church; no, God is YOUR God! He’s a personal God, a one-on-one God, a God Who says: Be mine and I will be yours—forever. The entire Bible is an invitation to enter into a deep, flourishing, victorious relationship with the God of the universe. So what are you waiting for? What’s keeping you from plunging into a deep, refreshing relationship with your God? What’s more important than throwing yourself into an intimate relationship with God, your God? ~Randy & Trena Reed
