God is Speaking “The I heard the voice of the Lord, saying “Whom will I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!” – Isaiah 6:8 God is always speaking but only a few are ever listening. Silence in the spiritual realm isn’t the result of God’s distance but ours. God is forever asking, forever sending, and forever saving, but only those who are interested in His presence and listening for His voice will ever know it. In this case, Isaiah wasn’t “called”—he was listening when God was calling anyone who would listen. Isaiah had his mind and ears on God and was ready and willing to do whatever needed to be done. He was NOT waiting for a specific call; he was just waiting for God to speak. God spoke and Isaiah answered: “Here I am. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8). Were there others who could have answered? Probably, but Isaiah didn’t hesitate to answer, and because of that, events in his life were set into motion that changed the course of history. THERE ARE NO ACCIDENTS AND NO COINCIDENCES WITH GOD! There is no such thing as “chance” or “luck.” One of the most powerful ways God speaks to us is through the things that happen in our life, especially those things that are totally out of our control. God is speaking to us all the time through the events in our life and we need to realize that what happens to us is happening for a reason. We may never fully understand or comprehend that reason, but nothing happens in our life that God doesn’t allow. Hearing from God is like anything else, it takes practice. If you want to hear God’s voice, you have got to practice listening to God’s voice. The more you practice hearing God, the more you WILL hear God. The first thing you will be amazed at is how much God is speaking to you. Like I said earlier, God is ALWAYS speaking to you. The problem is, we are not always listening. When God speaks to you, what He says will always be in line with His Word. God will NEVER contradict His Word. God is not going to tell you to do something that He has told you NOT to do in His Word. “If you want more of God, more guidance, and more direction, then learn His Word. Make it your goal to be alert to His voice and to stand up and say, “Here I am. Send me.” – Haley DiMarco Prayer: Heavenly Father, It is written in Your Word according to John chapter 10 that Your sheep know Your Voice. Heavenly Father, I am one of Your sheep. I ask You to teach me to hear Your Voice distinctly and clearly. I ask that You clear my mind of any preconceived thoughts, confusion or deception. I ask You Lord to block anything that is not of You so that I can hear your voice only, Lord Jesus.
