Good Evening Mississippi! Hopefully you enjoyed another day full - TopicsExpress

Good Evening Mississippi! Hopefully you enjoyed another day full of mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. Highs rose back into the upper-70s across the state today with a stiff southerly breeze. The winds will continue to push in off the gulf the next few days, increasing the heat AND the humidity. Youll start to feel the mugginess the next few days as the dewpoint temps rise into the upper-50s and low-60s. The noticeable rise in temps and moisture are all a sign that another round of rain is on the way. After a gorgeous start to the weekend, rain chances will return on Sunday. Well start with just a slight chance for scattered rain showers but as we work our way into the evening hours Sunday, a strong cold front will push into the Magnolia State. Thunderstorms will become more widespread and several more inches of rain will be possible. This will undoubtedly slow (or possibly reverse) the recession of flood waters this weekend and next week. Besides the flooding, damaging winds and even a few tornadoes are possible through Monday until the cold front passes. Hopefully skies clear out quick enough because we will be able to catch an entire Lunar Eclipse EARLY, EARLY Tuesday Morning. A partial eclipse will begin at 12:59 AM and the peak of the lunar eclipse will occur at 2:46 AM before ending at 5:36 AM. Again, well need the skies to clear out, but for the time being, chances are good. We clear out through the middle of next week and cool down as well, with temperatures by Wednesday morning in the upper 30s! -Brad Maushart WJTV
