Good Evening all you lovely people! We have more treats than a box of chocolates at Saffron Screen this weekend, but none of those horrid strawberry creams that no one eats, oh no, every one of OUR treats is a winner. The weekend kicks off on Fri with a bit of theatre! On Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm we are very pleased to be bringing you another play from The Globe, TWELFTH NIGHT. This is Shakespeare very accessible and funny play about misplaced loved. Starring Mark Rylance and a rare opportunity to see Stephen Fry on stage, you cannot afford to miss it, sold out in London, but there are still some seats left on both nights! For Saturday & Sunday’s Matinees at 4pm we have another stroke of genius with DESPICABLE ME 2 (U). Get ready for more Minion madness and mayhem as Gru and the crew return to our screens. Laugh out-loud fun for all the family! If you can make it this weekend, we’re also screening on Tuesday at 3pm. Then on Sunday at 8pm we bring you BEHIND THE CANDELABRA (15) This is the entertaining biopic about Liberace, virtuoso pianist, outrageous entertainer and flamboyant star of stage and television. Liberace lived lavishly and embraced a lifestyle of excess both on and off stage. This film takes a behind-the-scenes look at his tempestuous relationship with Scott Thorson. Starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon acting their little socks off, it’s fun, entertaining and honest, come see for yourselves. Lastly on Monday we have the rather engaging SOMETHING IN THE AIR (15). This semi-autobiographical film from Olivier Assayas follows a young man, Gilles, who finds himself pulled into ever more dangerous political protests by the people around him. It is a coming of age tale about a group French student radicals in the early ‘70’s and with great acting and a terrific soundtrack it cannot fail to please. Enjoy, ENJOY!
