Good Morning/Afternoon Peeps!! Good Job on getting work done on Monday!!! Todays Common Complaint leads to Todays Fit Tip!!! SORENESS!!! Why do my arms hurt? What do I do? 1. Hydrate! 2. Eat some potassium..like a banana :) it helps with muscle dehydration. 3. Move. Dont let soreness restrict you to the couch. Just keeping moving...nothing too serious. And 4. The most important thing...STRETCH! Stretch after any kind of mild to vigorous physical activity. When weight training or running, we do high intensity and highly repetitious movements of the same muscle groups over and over for a long period of time. So at the end of your workout, it leaves your muscles contracted and stiff. By stretching slowly at the end of sesh will help loosening up those muscle and their tendons. Many think that they look much bigger or defined after heavy lifting. In fact, you are. But only cuz the muscles has accumulated so much fluid as a byproduct of its intense work. These are the fluids that NEED to leave the muscle. Because THAT is what causes soreness. :) So Steps 1-4 are all tied together... Hydration keep the fluids moving, potassium helps with electrolyte transference in muscle fluids, moving keeps blood circulating. Thus pushing clean blood throughout body to nourish cells and collect free radicals. And stretch to loosen already contracted muscles. 💪 keep it up guys!! Have a great day ~g
