Good Morning Christian and Welcome To The Morning Light! THE ME THAT GRACE IS PRODUCING 1Cor. 15:9-10 For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I labored harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Most Christians today would interpret Paul’s meaning as, “I am what I am and God’s grace allows me to be this way—if you have a problem with it, take it up with God.” That would fit the no-fault, entitlement mentality of modern-thinking Christians. But what Paul really said was remarkable because it left God responsible and Paul accountable for Paul’s becoming. What Paul actually said was, “What God’s grace is making me, THAT is what I am!” We must understand grace for what it is: the power to be more, not permission to stay the same. Grace may begin by meeting us where we are in our inability and short-comings. But it doesn’t keep us there. Grace is the Love of God at work. So it always moves us into what He’s called us to be. Because we are not simply objects but recipients of His love, God is always at working in us through His love to raise us up. That is what grace is: God’s love at work in us. Phil. 2:13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Keep following The Morning Light and share it with a friend!
