Good Morning Everyone.......today I want to talk a little more about the greatest commandment to love our God with all our strength and all our soul and all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Why are we here ? why are we here living 80 to 90 years. to do what ? to learn what? why? I believe that we are here to learn to love. We get a good start with our family, our Mom and Dad,our brothers and sisters and family and friends. Then we have our spouse and or significant other and then our own children and if we still do not have it down ,God may gives us grand children or great grandchildren as the last gift of love. I do love all the above with all my heart, my wife I love so much and my children and my family and friends and even my pets. But in the past and even today , I was once told , where you spend your time , where you spend your treasure that is your love and that may be your God. I was thinking the other day is my love for my work, my love for football and sports, my love for movies and coffee are those my love affairs are those my mistresses is that my secret lovers and my mini-gods. Do I love those things more than the love of my neighbor. I would not blink an eye to see a pro football game and spend $100 for a ticket and $50 for parking and maybe $50 for a nice meal and beverages and or to take the family for a weekend movie for $100. But if a child of God who was living in the street asked for a a buck that may be all he is getting only a few dollars, how sad that football or a movie is more precious to me than someones child. If some charity appealed to me to give them a few dollars that may be my gift. While a weekend movie gets 20 times more of my treasure. I am not saying we can not entertain ourselves. I just look at myself and say I can do better in loving my neighbor and my God. When that collection plate goes buy maybe I can pretend I am buying a pro. sport ticket or a weekend at starbucks... may my love and treasure that I have be an understanding that I am blessed but may my treasure and love be a blessing also to my neighbor and my God.
