Good Morning. God has some very interesting ways to reveal Himself to those who are in need to eternal life. In Daniel 3 we see the Lord demonstrating to the King of Babylon that He is Lord of lord. In verse 28 we see the response of the King of Babylon to the revelation of the power of God. The King said, “Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the kings word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.” Matthew Henry in his commentary on this verse said, “He gives glory to the God of Israel as a God able and ready to protect his worshippers. Let him have the honour both of the faithful allegiance which his subjects bear to him and the powerful protection he grants to them, neither of which can be paralleled by any other nation and their gods. He gives him the glory of his goodness, that he was ready to do it. Bel could not save his worshippers from being burnt at the mouth of the furnace, but the God of Israel saved his from being burnt when they were cast into the midst of the furnace because they refused to worship any other god. By this Nebuchadnezzar was plainly given to understand that all the great success which he had had, and should yet have, against the people of Israel, which he gloried in, as he had therein overpowered the God of Israel, was owing purely to their sin: if the body of that nation had faithfully adhered to their own God and the worship of him only, as these three men did, they would all have been delivered out of his hand as these three men were. And this was a necessary instruction for him at this time.” I pray that we will continue to worship the only True God because He is worthy of our praise.
