Good Sunday morning, Hopkins County area.....clear skies and a frosty 38 degrees at my house, this morning....look for another awesome day full of sunshine and a high of 69 degrees and then a warmer night tonight with clear skies and 50 degrees.....beautiful autumn weather for Hopkins County!.....I really havent left the country.....a monster moved in to my computer during the night and I couldnt do anything, this morning.....maybe weve run him off at least for the time being!...A wonderful day on Saturday.....I learned a little bit of history at the History by Foot Walking Sulphur Springs and got to visit with some friends, before heading to the St. Jude Benefit Trail Ride in Como.....I was taking pictures as the riders passsed and kept running into people that I rode horses with all of my life.....Danny Coke, Donna Gail and Cephis, and loads of others.....then got back to the lunch area and another round of special friends were cooking lunch....it was a great morning to be in Hopkins County.....I eased off and headed to Winnsboro, to just sit down and eat a quiet lunch, where I could take it all in and lo and behold....I look up and Mary Bonham waves to me across from the restaurant....we have a great visit and she tells me about her huge pecan crop and other autumn activities....and just as we get finished visiting, in walks longtime friend, Judy Stewart....Judy and I started first grade together and of course we had to catch up.....on a class reunion coming up....her brother, Randy turning 60 in a few days, and our own memories of riding horses all over Hopkins County....a very special morning and a great lunch....then I decided to take the long way home.....down country roads and take pictures of the beautiful, beautiful autumn scenery....I took two and a half hours to drive from Winnsboro home, but every minute was precious....youd turn around a bend in the road and another scene popped out at you.....beautiful trees, old barns, and cattle grazing....northeast Texas is truly one of the most beautiful places in the autumn and by next weekend the color should be even more beautiful....I highly recommend the trip down backroads for some therapy!......Of course, that means that Im super behind on working photos and doing some chores around the house....so guess what Ill be doing this afternoon, unless I sneak off again.....This morning I was drawn to a very short, but most powerful verse, in the book of Isaiah, chapter 41, verse 1....Be silent before Me!......Some of the most powerful instructions come from the Father, if well just stop and listen....of course, sometimes God speaks loud and clear.....but more often He speaks in a quiet voice as He pricks our hearts during quiet meditation on His word or as a light clicks when were quietly observing His awesome creation....beautiful foliage, as were walking through the woods, or sitting quietly by ourselves....When things are unsettled and youre looking for answers, find a quiet place and just meditate on Gods creation and talk to Him in a quiet voice....your soul will be renewed and He will bless you with the answers.....I highly recommend the thinking stump for rich, rich blessings!
