Good afternoon everyone! Eric had his last regular chemo Monday - TopicsExpress

Good afternoon everyone! Eric had his last regular chemo Monday and has a 3 week break until he starts the stronger chemotherapies once a month for 3 months. His kidney function is still too high and hes on a potassium liquid bc his is too low. I still liquefy everything to go through his peg tube although hes healing and able to swallow a bit. Hes feeling much better being almost a week out of radiation. That crap is brutal! Hes almost up to 1200 calories a day, thats a huge deal! He had a little bug over the weekend and was throwing up. Thats why we think his labs came back worse than expected. I am pumping him full of ph balanced water and calories every hr/2hrs. He says Im a great nurse and thats all I need to keep going! He goes back Monday for labs and Dr Verma says he will put him in the hospital if his kidneys arent a lot better. Cisplatin is the hardest chemotherapy on the kidneys and hes done better than most. Also Im going to the Dr tomorrow for problems with my right ear Ive been having for a few months. I took a round if antibiotics in July and it never went away and now getting worse. Its causing dizziness and pain but Ive had to put Erics needs first. Im scared because Erics cancer was found through ear infections that wouldnt heal with many rounds of antibiotics over 4-5 mo. Im having similar symptoms and it freaks me out. Im sure its another ear infection but it sure is weird that its happening at the same time and neither of us have had ear infections since we were children. Please keep Eric and our family in your prayers and thoughts. I have to be tip top to take care of him our kids and home. I promise Im taking great care of myself and Im not stressed, Ive even lost 15lbs lol! I eat smaller portions and I try my best not to eat in front of Eric :) God has provided us peace through this time and he will through everything. Thanks friends!
