Good evening Tony Miano and everyone else here in Facebook Land. Havent been on F/B much this weekend. Friday we had an internment at Arlington Cemetery for a good friend Dex Armstrong from our SUBVETS Organization. We went down Thursday after work with Lynn Wynn, and hit no traffic. We stayed at Andrews Air Force Base in nice accommodations for Government Quarters. Friday we did the reception at the Womans Military Memorial at Arlington. It is a very nice Memorial that is relatively new. But it is missing any tributes to our Women in Submarines. Ladies like Krysten Janelle Ellis and the others need to start sending pictures and artifacts so that they can be recognized for their accomplishments in history. At the reception Dexs daughters, myself and others shared some laughs and Memories about Dex. Then they did the ceremony at Ft. Meyer old Chapel and then the burial in the Columbarium in Arlington. It was cold out, but a very impressive ceremony just the same. While we were there we happened to miss a quick moving snow storm back home. After the ceremony we headed for home, and although we hit some congestion initially traffic was moving rather well. We dropped off Lynn and got home about 1230 am Saturday morning. Yes Dee Purdy Carcioppolo did all the driving. Saturday we were kind of lazy and slept in. But then we had to shovel the drive way. It was only about 1 - 2 inches and was easy shoveling. Later we went for a great dinner at Beth Leonaitis and James Leonaitis house. Great Friends, Great time. Thanks guys. Today we loaded up our wood holders with logs and just stayed at home with the dogs around the wood fire. The rest of the day was spent on admin helping Patrick Urello with preparations for this years HOLLAND CLUB Ceremony recognizing those Shipmates who Qualified in Submarines back in 1965. 56 Guys this year. Its a lot of work, but Ive been doing it so long its really easy and I enjoy it so much. Tomorrow its back to Newport. Well thats it, time to browse around and see what I missed the last couple of days. Hope that everyone had a great weekend and that you all have a great week ahead.
