Good evening my friend. This morning, I got thinking about the harsh realities confronting our young citizens. I also thought about the failures of our fathers to teach us about the critical role of money in the life of a person. The dangers of borrowed comfort and a materialistic life. My mind dragged me to the following questions: How on earth are you going to be the next leader Nigeria needs if you use a 100, 000 Naira phone, 110, 000 Naira Ipad, 300,000 Blackbery and have no library covering your area of professional interest, no book on national development and no book on building a business? Even though we have fathers who left you no good values, they will not be here in the next few years to share the pains with us. If you keep all these expensive toys from foreign lands and cannot buy Books like : THERE WAS A COUNTRY, THE ACCIDENTAL PUBLIC SERVANT, THE FIVE MAJORS, MY COMMAND, BECAUSE I WAS INVOLVED, EMEKA OJUKWU, MY LIFE, HOUSE OF WAR, THIS HOUSE HAS FALLEN, WHY NATIONS FAIL, THE WEALTH OF NATIONS, THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC, DANCING ON THE BRINK, THE TRIUMPHS OF IDEALISM and many other books that give good accounts of our colonial and post-colonial history, then you are worse than our fathers. You have decided to continually live in the shadows and loud lies of the older generation. Go and sell that device. Go and trade them for valuable resources that will transform your life and make you great. You can not be cladding gadgets that can start you a business and be praying to God for a miracle. The miracle is in your hands. Nigerian youths, wake up!
