Good governance brings peace while bad governance, as we are - TopicsExpress

Good governance brings peace while bad governance, as we are currently experiencing under Jonathan led PDP government bring anarchy and youth restiveness. Good governance, according to James Callaghan, is ones ability to perform and deliver in line with the yearnings and aspirations of the people. It was Callagans contention that one of the major indices of good governance is ones ability to uphold public trust to the point that one is not bounded by the trappings of power to steal from the public pulse as we are currently witnessing under Jonathan led PDP government today. Callagan, however concluded that with kleptomaniacs like Jonathan in power, the quest for public confidence is eroded, as nothing can be adduced to buttress the fact that a responsive and responsible government is entrenched. If Callagans view on good governance is to be taken seriously, Nigeria can be said to be on the brink as far as the quest for good governance is concerned in the face of a systemic failure at the helm of affairs with those calling the shots being widely accused of sharp corrupt practices. It is also a well known fact that there are leaders who had striven to live aboard, proving thier mettle on every front upholding public trust with the absolute fear of God and striving hard to leave an indelible mark on the sands of time. It will not be foolhardy for one to say that, under the present democratic dispensation, Kano is blessed with a leader whose commitment on upholding public trust is not in doubt as no empirical evidence can be produced to buttress the fact that he had any skeleton in his cupboard. He came on board to serve his people with vigour and diligence, doing away with all the vestiges of corruption. It will be foolhardy for any one to say the above of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The likes of Buhari, Atiku and Kwankwaso (Almost every body agreed that all the three APC presidential aspirants are better than Jonathan) are out to correct the ills of the society. To save our democracy and our beloved country, Nigeria, all hands must be on deck to give one of them a chance. A word, they say, is enough for the wise
