Good meeting Friday. Had some quality people show up - including Jared, Brent, Michael, Dennis, Mark, and Kurt ( and me)! Many beers and a couple of wines were tried including a Chardonnay and a blonde ale by Kurt, a wheat by Jared, Bristol Scottish ale/ a mead/ kriek lambic by me, rode beach grand cru/ saison-Brett ale/ American Hefeweizen IV by Michael, a hefe/ jalapeño IPA/wind river pale ale by Dennis, and a rio grande IPA from mark. Club business included a financial report indicating we had $509.66 until we agreed by unanimous vote to pay Jared for the use of his place $25 per meeting. As it was the 4th meeting, that was $100 gone. We also discussed doing another beer flavor class. There are 2 versions. One is beer off-flavor sand the other is various flavor that may be found in beers- off or otherwise. General consensus was that the off flavor tastings may be more helpful to a wide variety of beer drinkers. Michael will talk to Dennis at IDK about hosting there and inviting a wider range of people. Michael and I will work on accompanying presentation, etc. Novemberfest was discussed. We want to have it and dates are in the air. Suggestions? The club website has been discontinued due to lack of use. We continue our Facebook page. There was discussion on keeping the web page but having it just redirect to the Facebook page. I also mentioned a whiskey tasting I will be having and several volunteers emerged. I was appropriately shocked. I am sure you are shocked that I had minutes and everything. I know I was.
