Good morning. Id like to share a few rules of life in general, that have significance within your MC lives as well. - The hurt of one is the hurt of all; the honor of one is the honor of all. - Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you that what they are saying is worthless. Listen with your heart. - Speak with reverence in the presence of elders, strangers, others to whom special respect is due. - Seek the things that will benefit everyone. - Respect the wisdom of the people in council. - Once you present an idea to the council, it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. - Observe moderation and balance in all things. - Know those things that lead to your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction. - Your word is all you have. - Practice rectitude at every opportunity. - If what you want to say doesnt improve upon silence, its best to leave it unsaid. I hope that as you peruse this list you uncover the deeper meanings of some of these rules, and are able to pass them on to others in your respective circles of life and influence. As we approach a new year its important to reflect on the events of this past year, and illustrate the progress thats been made in the community. Albeit slight in some instances, change for the better has been achieved. That change is the result of communal effort, and communal responsibility. No one has the luxury moving forward to rest on their laurels and enjoy the fruits of their labor. In fact, quite the opposite. As we close 2012 and the dawn of 2013 rises on the horizon, all of us have greater challenges and greater responsibilities that lie ahead. New professors of protocol and protectors of history and tradition should be emerging and helping shoulder the burden of spreading the message. Resistors of the basic rules of life within the MC community should be feeling the city shrinking around them and corralling them toward the exits. Those who have demonstrated that they now know better and in fact do better will be expected to assist in bringing the free lunch program to a close, and holding accountable their peers who continue to disrespect and mock this beloved culture. In short, the real work has only just begun. You dont have to be a traditional MC, to believe in, respect, honor, and uphold tradition and protocol. All thats required is knowledge and the fortitude to impart that knowledge on others, and ultimately the willingness to hold your peers accountable. For everyone who asserts that they truly love this MC life, and all that comes with it, there is no option to stand by on the sidelines and observe as a spectator. Traditional MC or not, we all have a vested interest in controlling our destiny and eradicating the plague of respectless, dishonorable, locusts that are swarming our area, and threatening our culture. I hope everyone enjoys a blissful weekend and gets out on the highways and by-ways. I know Warmongers will be breaking several state lines throughout the weekend in the rain and cold, and I encourage you all to do the same as clubs. Experience the suck together, build those bonds of brother/sisterhood over coffee at a gas station 2 states away, shivering and miserable. Those experiences are the ones you never forget, and strengthen the fabric of an MC.
