Good morning all. A little Chilly this morning, but its all - TopicsExpress

Good morning all. A little Chilly this morning, but its all good. 30 years ago I was Initiated, tried, and tested. And then in the late afternoon, one of the proudest moments in my Navy Career as I stood there in my brand new Khakis and Master Chief Myron Leanna read the CPO Creed, Dee and good friend Jim Leavitt pinned my anchors on, and someone put the combination hat on my head, and then one by one all of the Chiefs came by shook my hand and said Congratulations and Welcome to the Mess. Times have changed and Initiations are no more, but at each Navy Command new Chief Petty Officers will go through the Ceremony and will be welcomed as a Chief. Even though its been 30 years I still get chills when I hear or read the CPO Creed and it doesnt matter which one I am hearing or reading. It is an awesome feeling and a dramatic change. Here is the creed that was read when I made Chief. Strong words. goatlocker.org/resources/cpo/history/creed.htm Congratulations and Welcome to the Mess to all of the Chief Petty Officers. Be Proud. It is a day to remember, and a huge accomplishment in your careers. The first time you hear the words Good Morning Chief or hear the Captain say What does the Chief say? it is the best feeling in the world and it never gets old being called The Chief. Not then, and not on my 30th Anniversary of getting pinned.
