Good morning everyone. As I study the Day 4 lesson Our Idols Leave Us Empty, I think of the stupid things I have done over the years to fill the voids in my life. The author states Ultimately idols leave us empty because our hearts were created for God. In my mind I think of pulling up to the gas pump, putting the nozzle in the fill tube of the truck, and filling the tank. What happens if we try to fill up with the garden hose at home? We are pretty much guaranteed that the engine want run long. Dont we do the same things in our lives? We try to replace God in our lives with other things and we are designed for God. We cant work hard enough, eat enough comfort food, drink enough anything, watch enough TV, study enough, or even hunt and fish enough, or any of the others things we do to fill the void in our lives to take the place of a relationship with God. Praying we all have a great day today feasting at Gods table of Love.
