Weather Situation A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure along Queenslands east coast. A surface trough is currently over Queenslands southeast interior, and should drift eastwards off the southeast coast tomorrow. Forecast for the rest of Monday Isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland areas, extending inland during the day over the states southeast. More widespread showers with the chance of thunderstorms over the southeast interior. Fine and mostly sunny over the west of the state. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh at times about the tropical coast. Fire Danger - Low to Moderate. _______________________________________________ Todays official forecast for the Herbert and Lower Burdekin and surrounds. Partly cloudy. Patchy fog in the north early this morning. The chance of showers near the coast developing late in the morning, clearing in the late afternoon, then the chance of showers tonight.
