Good morning friends… After coffee, several cigarettes and a review of world events this morning it appears inevitable that we are going to be engaging in yet another war, in another country in the Middle East. I would like to extend my prayers to the men and women of the United States Military as they prepare to engage. Also to the intelligence agency personnel, civilians and support groups who will also be involved. I also pray for the lives of innocents who will perish because of evil that they have no control over. I pray that this action will be swift and effective. I pray no American will loose their life , but I am a realist and know that the odds are far greater my prayers will not be answered. I do not understand the specific reasons we are about to engage, other than our government, our military feels that it is in the best interest of our country, and that it is imperative for the security of our nation. I do understand one thing. This morning I woke up in a warm bed, fixed a cup of hot coffee, stood outside and smoked my morning cancer stick. I took a hot shower with clean water, dried off with a clean towel, put on clean clothes. I then proceeded to drive to work. It was a nice drive on a cool morning…Had some time to think…Thought about my brothers I had served with decades ago overseas, sent them a message this morning on Facebook saying good morning. Now all that being said, here is my point…. At no time this morning was I concerned about someone breaking into my home and dragging me out on the street because of my religious or political beliefs. Not once did I make a dash from cover to the vehicle or from the vehicle to another building in fear a sniper had me in my scope. Never did I get anxious or concerned when I passed an object on the side of the road or see a car parked “out of place” worried that an IED or car bomb had been placed stratigically to kill me. Not once did I have to swerve or drive around any bodies lying in the street from the previous evenings fighting or government cleansing of opposition….. All in all a pretty damn good morning, and I bet I won’t even sweat the drive home as I stop and pick up dinner….. Sooooooooooooooo, I guess what I am saying is….. Thanks to all that served and to all that are currently serving. Thanks for the drive in this morning where I dint even spill my coffee…. Also for those about to enter hells gate….Godspeed and get home soon…….MY prayers are with you…… Anthony
